Blue Bloods fans will need to find other plans for their Friday nights for the foreseeable future. The mid-season finale of the beloved CBS drama aired on May 17, and the remaining eight episodes of season 14 won’t air until fall.

Donnie Wahlberg, dressed as his character Danny Reagan, addressed fans in a video from set. He said, “Blue Bloods fans, thanks for being a part of our amazing season, but we still have more to go. Trust me, it’s unforgettable and full of family drama. Don’t miss the final season of Blue Bloods coming this fall on CBS. See you soon.”

Fans unloaded in the comments section, leaving messages like, “you guys have made an utterly idiotic decision to cancel the show! It’s still popular and this makes zero sense.” Another wrote, “CBS, please please don’t cancel this incredible and wonderful show. It’s always been more than a show, it’s family. The cast and crew work so well together on and off screen. Nobody is ready to say goodbye. Please don’t end your best show and leave millions heartbroken. It’s not too late to change your minds. Don’t get rid of our Friday nights.”

Another commenter added, “I will remain hopeful (and do what I can contacting CBS) that CBS will come to their senses and not cancel a heart-lifting program that we need AND that has good ratings and it’s so beloved!”.

  1. Please do not cancel this show. This is by far the best drama on the air. It is still a very relevant and well written and entertaining show.

  2. Running out of reasons to continue watching regular network programming. CBS is giving me another reason to dump them.

  3. Blue Bloods is the best show I absolutely love it. It’s heartwarming and there is still so much to do if CBS doesn’t want to continue why not have another network pick it up like ABC did for 9-11 when FOX canceled it? The cast isn’t ready for it to be over and the fans sure as hell aren’t ready for it to be over so CBS either come to ur senses and don’t cancel Blue Bloods or Have another network pick it up.

  4. I DON’T GET IT CBS YOU BOUGHT SWAT BACK AND NOW YOU DON’T WANT TO BRING BLUE BLOODS BACK. DOES THE NETWORK HAVE ANY HEART. THIS HAS BEEN #1 IN IT’S TIME SLOT SINCE THE BEGINNING SO YOU WANT TO CREATE PROGRAMS THAT WON’T MAKE IT PASS SEASON 2 AND YOU WANT GET RID OF THIS AMAZING SHOW. DO THE RIGHT THING CBS, AND LET THE REAGANS FINISH THE STORY.
