The final episodes of the beloved television series Blue Bloods are currently airing on Friday nights on CBS. Earlier this month, the Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino appeared in a Blue Bloods episode titled “Bad to Worse.”
Now, Sorvino is taking to Instagram to gush over the experience of working with Tom Selleck, 79, on this popular show.
Sorvino Loved Working With Selleck
“I had the extraordinary pleasure of working w/ the great Tom Selleck on this (I believe to be final) season of @bluebloods_cbs it was an honor to appear as the fire commissioner in this beloved show,” Sorvino, 57, wrote alongside a photo of herself and Selleck.
“Loved also playing w/ Dylan Walsh. What a great experience, great cast and crew!” she added. A second photo showed Sorvino, Selleck, and Walsh together on set.
Fans took to the comments section of Sorvino’s post to praise both her and Selleck.
“How wonderful! Wow, Tom Selleck still looks great, and you are beautiful and elegant as always!” one fan wrote. Another added, “Wonderful. Two legends together, and better every day.”
“You were great! Sad to see it end,” a third person commented. A fourth fan stated, “Great Series, with great Stars in the Cast!!! Will truly miss the Friday night episodes.”

Selleck Tried To Save Blue Bloods
Blue Bloods is a police procedural that has been on since 2010. Fans were devastated at the end of last year when CBS announced that it would be canceling Blue Bloods, though the network allowed eight final episodes to be shot that are currently airing.
Selleck spent most of this year desperately trying to save Blue Bloods from cancellation.
“I will continue to think that CBS will come to their senses,” he told CBS News back in May. “We’re the third-highest scripted show in all of broadcast. We’re winning the night. All the cast wants to come back. And I can tell you this: we aren’t sliding off down a cliff. We’re doing good shows, and still holding our place. So, I don’t know. You tell me!”
Selleck was still voicing his “frustration” with CBS as recently as last month.
“If you were to say to the television network, ‘Here’s a show you can program in the worst time slot you got, and it is going to guarantee you winning Friday night for the next 15 years,’ it would be almost impossible to believe,” he said. “My frustration is the show was always taken for granted because it performed from the get-go.”

Selleck Struggling To Adjust
Selleck went on to admit that it will “take a long time to sort all of this out.”
“I remember after the weekend [of the final episode’s shoot], I said, ‘I’ve got to get to bed early tonight because I have to do my dialogue for Monday.’ Well, there was no Monday,” he lamented. “It’s just going to take a while.”
Selleck concluded by saying that the Blue Bloods cast has gotten particularly close over the years.
“There isn’t a single one of them who didn’t want to come back,” the former Magnum P.I. star said. “Most shows don’t end that way — there’s petty jealousy and all sorts of things — and we seemed to overcome that. It’s something for everybody to hang their hats on and be proud of.”
