All your favorite shows are returning — or premiering — during midseason and some dates have already been announced.
High Potential returns on January 7 after an explosive fall finale involving a hostage situation at the precinct. After the episode, Daniel Sunjata teased what viewers can expect from the rest of the season.
“There will be some questions that are answered. There will be some itches that do get scratched for the audience,” he exclusively told Us Weekly in November. “[But like] all good television, you always leave the audience wanting a little bit more so that they have something to come back to.”
Despite not receiving a renewal yet, Sunjata was excited about the season 2 possibilities, adding, “I think we’ll see more of that probably in — fingers crossed — season 2. We’ll dig more into that. There will be a peek behind the curtain in terms of Karadec outside of the workplace. What his life is like outside of the precinct. They’ll probably get more into that during season 2.”

ABC will continue to expand their roster with the premiere of Shifting Gears on Wednesday, January 8. The upcoming sitcom, which stars Tim Allen and Kat Dennings, centers on the owner of a car restoration shop who gets a chance to reconnect with his estranged daughter and his grandchildren.
Shifting Gears comes three years after Allen’s previous sitcom Last Man Standing wrapped its nine-season run. Before Last Man Standing, Allen was known for his role as Tim “The Toolman” Taylor on the ABC sitcom Home Improvement, which ran from 1991 to 1999.
Dennings, meanwhile, has a history with network TV playing Max in CBS’ sitcom 2 Broke Girls from 2011 to 2017.
