Last week, we reported that Tom Selleck had slammed CBS for canceling his beloved show Blue Bloods after fourteen years. Now, he has reemerged for the first time since making that statement, and he’s still looking rough.
Selleck Accused Of Looking ‘Downcast’ And ‘Heavier’
Daily Mail reported that Selleck looked “downcast” as he walked out of a friend’s house in the San Fernando Valley. The publication added that the former Magnum P.I. star appeared “flushed and heavier than usual, with his scruffy salt-and-pepper beard on full display.”
Sadly, that’s not the first time we’ve heard a similar description of Selleck’s state lately.
Selleck was seen wearing a blue button-down shirt, black tee, shorts, and sneakers.
This came days after Selleck publicly blasted CBS for canceling Blue Bloods. The police procedural family drama has been on since 2010 with the final episodes airing on October 18.

‘I’m Kind Of Frustrated’
“I’m kind of frustrated,” Selleck told TV Insider. “During those last eight shows, I haven’t wanted to talk about an ending for Blue Bloods but about it still being wildly successful.”
“In a Top 100 Shows of 2023-2024 (in total viewers, we were number 9 out of 100), if you discount the three football shows, we’re #6!” he continued. “My frustration is the show was always taken for granted because it performed from the get-go.”
Selleck went on to say that he is trying not to be bitter about this situation.
“I’m not going to turn into a bitter old guy saying, ‘Get off my lawn!’” he added. “I don’t believe in holding grudges, but if you were to say to the television network, ‘Here’s a show you can program in the worst time slot you got, and it is going to guarantee you winning Friday night for the next 15 years,’ it would be almost impossible to believe.”
The popular CBS drama “Blue Bloods” is wrapping up this year, but star Tom Selleck isn’t ready to let go. He discusses his hope to extend the series, his memoir “You Never Know,” and the enduring legacy of “Magnum, P.I.” https://t.co/RpiTDc8cXd pic.twitter.com/xKmrBFNKDQ

What Selleck Will Miss Most About Blue Bloods
When asked what he will miss most about Blue Bloods, Selleck didn’t hesitate to reply, “the actors.”
“The family of actors is as close as the Reagan family and the characters that they play,” he explained. “There’s isn’t a single one of them who didn’t want to come back. Most shows don’t end that way — there’s petty jealousy and all sorts of things– and we seemed to overcome that. It’s something for everybody to hang their hats on and be proud of.”
“You set a tone early, and I’m proud to say I had something to do with that, having had such a good experience on Magnum. On Blue Bloods, in some ways, I was the patriarch of the actor Reagan family,” Selleck continued. “They knew I [had worked on a long-running show before] so I had some credibility when problems came up. It helped, I think.”
This has clearly been a very difficult time for Selleck and the entire Blue Bloods cast. Please join us in saying a prayer for them.
