CBS Stuns ‘Blue Bloods’ Fans with News About the Show’s Future

There might be more on the way from the Reagan family.

CBS has officially announced that beloved Friday night drama Blue Bloods is coming to an end, despite protests from both fans and stars of the series. As viewers await the final episodes to air in the fall, the network has offered a glimmer of hope about the show’s future.

TVLine reported that during a recent shareholders meeting, Brian Robbins, co-CEO of Paramount Global (the parent company of CBS), delivered this piece of news: “In TV, new franchise extensions are coming for DexterBillions, and Blue Bloods.” Paramount has previously confirmed spinoffs of Dexter and Billions, but this is the first mention of more to come from the Blue Bloods universe.

The news shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to fans of the NYPD drama. Despite its cancellation, the series continues to perform in the ratings for CBS. In its 14th season, it was the number 8 most-watched program on TV and regularly wins Friday nights.
