Paramount execs are teasing the possibility of a new BLUE BLOODS series.
“In a presentation at Paramount’s annual stockholders meeting on Tuesday, Paramount Global co-CEO Brian Robbins hinted that a new BLUE BLOODS series is in the works following the CBS drama’s announced end later this year,” TV Line reported.
Robbins said, “In TV, new franchise extensions are coming for DEXTER, BILLIONS, and BLUE BLOODS.”
The hit cop drama was canceled last fall, but fans and cast alike aren’t ready for it to end.
In May, BLUE BLOODS star Tom Selleck shared why he doesn’t think the show will end after Season 14. Movieguide® reported:
Though BLUE BLOODS has been officially canceled by CBS since last fall, Tom Selleck is still hopeful that the network will reverse its decision, a sentiment fueled by a fight he had with a network in the past.
“I will continue to think that CBS will come to their senses. We’re the third-highest scripted show in all of broadcast. We’re winning the night. All the cast wants to come back. And I can tell you this—we aren’t sliding off down a cliff, we’re doing good shows and still holding our place,” Selleck told CBS News.
However, leadership has been adamant that the series won’t be renewed.
